Hello! My name is Sasha Liem. I am a fifth-year chiropractic student here at the New Zealand College of Chiropractic, graduating at the end of this year. My practice is currently proficient in Diversified, Gonstead and Activator technique, Toggle and Drop Table. I will be taking SOT as my elective next semester but am interested in learning new techniques post graduating.

I want everyone to be able to experience chiropractic care and the benefits it provides, therefore my practice base is open to anyone and everyone with a nervous system. My care involves a lot of communication with my practice members so they understand and know why they are receiving care, and that if we both put in the work we’ll see flourishing progress.

Experience –
My experience outside the centre includes the Coca-Cola externship and our Rarotonga trip which allowed me to see patients in a higher volume and those with great stress in their lives and inaccessibility to healthcare. These opportunities allowed me to gain insight on how chiropractic improves quality of life and functional performance in specific populations and groups and gave me confidence in checking and adjusting people of all ages and backgrounds.

Workplace Preferences –
I would like to work in an environment that aligns with my values and philosophy. I really enjoy working in a busier, fast-paced environment where I can keep learning and growing, but it’s also important to me to have enough time to connect with the people I’m caring for, especially during a time of learning. Ideally, I’d love to start in a clinic that already has a solid patient base so I can learn from the team but am able to do health screenings and talks in the community to help bring new people into the practice.

So far, I don’t have a set location of where I’d like to practice but I am looking to leave Auckland after graduating. I want to maintain a good work-life balance whilst working full-time to leave space for other activities I like to do outside of working
