My Bio – Meet and Greet

Hello! My name is Isabella Grant (Bella) I’m originally from Christchurch, and am studying a Bachelor of Chiropractic, graduating in November 2025. My practice is currently proficient in the techniques of Diversified, Gonstead and Activator. I am interested in learning Thompson, NET and am taking SOT as my elective next semester. My approach to care predominantly embodies a family-based feel with a particular interest in women’s health, fertility and pediatric care. I would like the opportunity to work with neurodiverse children and adults as I believe chiropractic care is extremely beneficial to them in regulating nervous system activity. I am open to all practice bases and types as I want to further my learning as much as possible as a new graduate. Care between myself and a practice member is like a partnership which is something I like to communicate early on, as I believe they get the best results when they are willing to put the work in also.

Experience

I have experience treating children in center ranging from ages 6months – 10years old and pregnant women through the teenage parent unit run at the college. This program allowed us to reach out to young mums and give them accessible chiropractic where they may not have had the opportunity otherwise. This gave me great insight into experiences within specific populations, and how I can help them in the future. Due to this, I am very comfortable adjusting people of all ages and backgrounds, if they have a spine we can help! Appointments in the chiropractic center are run 15minutes at a time, which is a time parameter I am comfortable working within. I do have experience having back-to-back days where time management is important to keep a practice running smoothly.

Patient education

As I was saying above, I believe care is a partnership between the practitioner and practice member. For the best results, both parties must be willing to put in the work and for a practice member, that means doing things outside of care as well. It is important they know the purpose of chiropractic care, and our philosophy of improving brain to body connection through the nervous system. It is also important to have complete transparency about what is going in with their body from the beginning, so they are fully educated and can build trust from your experience/expertise. I have found that if they understand these concepts, they are more willing to adhere to a care plan hence getting the most out of care.

Team & Workplace Preferences

I would love to work with people with a similar philosophy/wellbeing mindset to me. A family focused practice would be ideal however, I am open to all experiences. I want to learn as much as possible so a higher volume pace would be preferred, but I still want the opportunity to connect with practice members. Appointment times ranging from 10-20 minutes would be ideal to give me that opportunity. I am also very comfortable screening/completing health talks if that was required of me to get new patients into a practice, but having an initial practice base as a foundation would be preferred.

Communication & Teamwork Skills

I communicate well with practice members whether that be around chiropractic, care plans, or what is going on with their body at the moment. I create a space that allows them to feel safe communicating with me no matter what, which I believe is very important. I am thorough with my note taking and external communications and am very open to communication/feedback around myself and how I practice from other practitioners and mentors.

I work well with others in a team environment. I have experience as a CA working for Dr Todd Keenan at the chiropractice. My job included communicating and coordinating with patients and contributing to the overall logistics of the practice. I was also head girl of Villa Maria College in Christchurch, which involved a lot of collaborative teamwork running a team of student leaders all throughout lockdown. Over this least year, I have been a part of a student mentor program, helping the junior interns prepare for exams and get settled into the chiropractic center. This was extremely beneficial for my leadership and organization skills and something I thoroughly enjoyed.

Personal & Lifestyle Considerations

My preferred work locations include anywhere in New Zealand, particularly the South Island, and Australia including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. I am not set on any particular work locations, and open to any/all offers.

I would like to maintain a good work life balance working from 25-40 hours a week. I really enjoy hiking, swimming, walking and going to the gym, so having some time throughout my weeks to do these activities is very important to me. I don’t have any specific preferences to what days and times the shifts would be on and am very flexible.

I look forward to meeting you all soon!
