Run for Research

In just a few years, Run for Research has raised over $20,000 towards chiropractic research carried out right here in New Zealand.

The event continues to grow in popularity every year with NZCC students and chiropractors attacking some of the toughest physical trails and distances to give back to the profession they are so passionate about.

This year, the event will take place on Sunday 8 October at Vellenoweth Green, St Heliers, starting at 8am and offers a range of distances for runners, and walkers, at all levels.

Register to participate

Participants can run or walk as much as they want, when they want – including breaks as you need them. Your total distance will be calculated at the end of the day.

It’s free to register, however participants are expected to raise at least $30 in donations.

To participate in the Run for Research event, please click the button below to be taken to the event registration page.

Circuit map

Participants start from Vellenoweth Green, St Heliers, and run or walk along Tamaki Drive to one of four distance markers – 1km, 3km, 5km or 10km – and return to the start/finish. Participants can then choose to run or walk the same or different distance, retire for the day, or stay to support other runners and walkers and take part in activities at the home base.

FAQ’s

What footwear should I bring?

As we’ll be running on concrete and asphalt, we recommend any running shoes that are generously cushioned to absorb impact on hard surfaces.

What food should I pack?

We will be providing running gels, electrolytes, water and some snacks. There are also plenty of cafes and restaurants minutes from our base camp. Feel free to bring anything additional or special you might want.

What should I do to support hydration?

We recommend that if you are planning to run long distances to have a water vest or bottle with you. Otherwise, there are some water fountains along the route and we will have plenty of water at base camp.

What facilities will be on site?

There will be public toilets located at our base camp.

Tips on getting there?

St Heliers is just a 15 minute drive from the College. On the day, it would be easiest to drive or carpool with someone else going. There is plenty of parking. If you come to our weekly Wednesday runs, it is at the same location.
